June 22nd 2010 Blackout Rock Club, Roma, Italy
Screaming teens, tears and singing along thats what makes an ADTR show memorable.
You know alot of bands say that they love fans and they are glad that everyone came out to their show, but most of the times it seems to be a script more than something felt. All of this totally doesn't apply to A Day To Remember.
The band was interacting with the audiance very deeply and i would describe this band relationship with their fans passionate. Infact for almost the show they had to deal with kids jumping over the stage and try to grab everything they could, from bottles of water to the drummer's cymbals. A nice note was also the singer wearing an italian soccer team shirt during the encore, especially considering how proud italians are for the country team. :)
Photography notes
The Blackout Rock Club in Roma has pros and cons, like everything you and i would say, but this pros and cons are really accentuate. First the pros. Good lights. Nice Venue. Photo pass let you access the side of the stage, which could lead to interesthing photo opportunities. Cons. No pit. yes you read well NO PIT. Projector lightning the bands with undesired shadows. Low stage.
I shot most of this show with the Canon 70-200mm open wide mounted on the 5D mark II, which in situation like this can be a relief, even considering i was using it standing above one of the side speaker, surrounded by crazy screaming girls, and still able to grab almost until the end of the stage.
Here is a video to show you what was going on.
